Turmeric: The Golden Ticket to Glowing Skin

Turmeric may just be the missing ingredient in your skincare routine

Turmeric is a natural spice that has been used for centuries in traditional Indian medicine and skincare.


Growing up my mother has taught me about this skin gold that has absolutely changed my view of skincare products. A simple yogurt, turmeric, and honey DIY face mask can do wonders for your skin and body rather than a super expensive face wash filled with chemicals.


Some properties of turmeric are:

  1. Antioxidant: Turmeric is a rich source of antioxidants that can help protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals. It can also help prevent premature aging of the skin by reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

  2. Brightening and lightening: Turmeric can help brighten the skin and reduce the appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation.

  3. Acne-fighting properties: Turmeric has antibacterial properties that can help fight acne-causing bacteria. It can also help reduce the production of sebum, which can lead to fewer breakouts.


You might be wondering - how exactly do I incorporate more turmeric in my life?


The answer is simple and limitless. Begin adding turmeric in your daily foods, drinks, and DIY face masks! For instance, turmeric juices and lattes have been so hyped up lately but not just because of their beautiful golden color, but because people are actually seeing results from this magical spice in theiry daily energy, glow, and skin.


Here are some examples in which you can use turmeric daily:

  • Drinking a lemon-turmeric-ginger juice in the mornings (great for your gut too)

  • Adding the spice into your meals such as chicken, curries, or cooked vegetables

  • Try ordering a golden latte from a coffee shop or even making one yourself at home!

  • Make an easy face mask to use before bed (my personal favorite)


DIY face mask recipe:

  • ½ cup of plain yogurt with

  • ¼ teaspoon of turmeric.

  • 1/2 tablespoon of honey

  • A squeeze of lemon juice

Combine all ingredients in a bowl and let it sit in the fridge for at least 5 minutes. Then just spread it on your face and leave it on for about 20 minutes. Wash with water and moisturize! I promise this basic mask will do wonders for glowing skin!







Turmeric is regarded as a key ingredient to fight inflammation and many other inflammatory-related conditions, which is one of the reasons it has stood the test of time as a supplement in the East. Next time you find your skin feeling a bit dull or rough textured - use the golden ticket for an instant glow!
